Heartland Weimaraner Rescue and FIAT of Edmond will be hosting a packet pick up for runners that have pre-registered for the Ghost Runners 5k Dog Run. The packet pick up will be located at the FIAT of Edmond dealership and will include extra goodies for participants who get their packets early, or who register on site for the race. FIAT will also be giving a Red Coyote Running and Fitness gift card to everyone who test drives a FIAT during the event.
Ghost Runners 5K Dog Run will be held on October 27, 2013 at Lake Hefner’s Stars and Stripes Park in OKC. It is a timed and sanctioned race that can be run with or without a dog and is a USATF certified course that will be digitally timed by DG Productions. Participants are encouraged to bring their dogs to the event and will be allowed to complete the entire run with them as long as the dogs are leashed and runner-friendly.
Many local area rescue groups and businesses will be at the event to show their support for the community and animal welfare. Race day activities include micro-chipping by Heartland Weimaraner Rescue, a pet/owner costume contests, raffles, Kid’s Fun Zone and much more. Heartland invites all animal lovers to come out and join the fun. The general public and their four-legged friends are welcome to attend and Heartland promises that there will be fun and entertainment for the whole family, even if you don’t participate in the race.
Money raised from the Ghost Runners 5K Dog Run will be used to assist Heartland with medical and foster expenses for dogs in the program.
Heartland Weimaraner Rescue consists of volunteers dedicated to providing safe and loving homes for weimaraners in need.
